Q: What do we need to bring for the trip?
A: Some food and drinks and a warm jacket or a wet weather jacket if slight showers are predicted. Dont forget your sun screen and hat and goggles if you need them. You can also throw in some sea legs tablets if suffer from sea sickness. Hey and don't forget a great smile and a positive attitude does help to have a great day.
Q: What happens to our catch can we keep it?
A: Absolutely, Your catch is yours. Generally I like to put it all in a bin and share it with all members who come aboard. It is always nice to take some fish home. But that is entirely up to you. If you want to keep what you catch, then you can certainly do so.
Q: How many fish are we allowed?
A: Number of fish depends on the species and area of fishing. Mfish has set catch limits and we would Never take more than the stipulated quotas. Also most species have size limits and we will never keep any undersized fish. You can reuest a copy of the latest of the allowable catches from Mfish or you could discuss this with me while on board.
Q: Some of us have not fished before, Will we be shown how to get going?
A: Certainly. We have all levels of fishos who come aboard. We are certainly here to help with those who want some training.
Q: Is there a toilet onboard?
A: Yes, there is a small flush toilet on board and certainly does the job when out on a long day.
Q: Is there a BBQ on board?
A: Sorry we do not have any cooking facilities aboard.
Q: Can we bring our own bait and rods?
A Yes you could bring your own bait and rods. Please indicate this at the tiem of making the booking. The price would reduce accordingly and you would pay only for the trip.
Q: If we bring our own bait and rods would you help us set it up?
A: Certainly, We could show you how it's done on request.
Q: What are the chances of catching fish?
A: It's fishing and some days are better than others. It's a vast ocean out there and you will never know what you get unless a line is in the water.
Q: What time do we need to be there?
A: You may be there atleast 10 mnutes prior to the time stipulated for departure. As soon as we are all ready we could leave. Remember we must allow a few minutes for the safety briefing before we leave.
Q: What about Parking Facilities?
A: There is a huge pay and display Council car park at Westhaven Marina. Maks sure you have enough coins to pay for the parking. The present cost is $2 per hour or $10 for a day's parking.(Parking prices are only indicative prices and are subject to change as the authorities deem fit). Please ensure you have paid and displayed for parking prior to embarking on your trip. The last thing you want is your vehicle towed away which would ruin a good day out.
Q: Where do we depart from?
A: Trips depart from Saint Mary's Bay in Westhaven Marina in Auckland City. To get there: Take Westhaven Drive off Beaumont Street. Follow Westhaven drive (The road would take a bend left and then curve right). Follow the road and on your right you should find a sign board "Westhaven Marina". Enter this area and you should be in a huge car park. While entering the car park on the far left end is the Boat Ramp where we would depart from. (See map below)

Terms and Conditions:(Please take a moment to read the terms and conditions).
- Customers are required to be available at the departure jetty at least minutes prior to the allocated time of departure. Failure to turn up on time may result in the boat leaving and the customer missing the trip. No compensation will be made for such trips missed and the customer DOES NOT have the option of booking another date.The customer will still be required to pay any outstanding amounts owed towards the trip.
- The operator has the option of cancelling a trip at short notice due to weather conditions unsuitable for the trip or any other conditions that the operator deems unsafe or unsuitable to complete the trip. The customer has the option of booking an alternate date suitable to the operator.
- The operator has the right to cut a trip short and make a decision to return to harbour at any time due to any conditions that are deemed unsafe or unsuitable by the operator.
- Customers are always required to act in a manner that is safe for themselves and for others on board.
- Customers are required to comply with any safety instructions given by the skipper. Failure to do so may result in the termination of the trip.
- Customers are required to comply with the quota management system and fishing regulations administered by government agencies.
- Travel times to and from destinations are included in the length of the trip.
- Deposits paid is non refundable if the customer does not turn up for the trip. Cancellations made by the operator due to weather conditions or mechanical failure may be refunded to the customer if another date for the trip is not possible.
- All personal gear brought on board is the responsibility of the customer. Please make sure that you have adequate insurance for such items if required. The operator will make no compensation for any items lost whatsoever.
- Customers are required to treat hired equipment with care. The operator will charge for items that are damaged due to faults or misuse by the customer.
